A dream come true for me! I’ve been watching Seattle-based Filipina vlogger Judy Travis for years now and have grown to love her and her entire family for how real and relatable they are. It’s definitely not easy raising 5 children and while I think they have the means to hire a fleet of household help, I just love how she and Benji have chosen to intentionally be present while managing their home, running errands, doing the cooking and laundry themselves. I can so relate because my husband and I do this too–we are very hands on at home and we’re grateful that we’re able to use our hands and bodies to do household chores.
The Travis family came to the Philippines in time for Mama Nini’s (Judy’s mom) first death anniversary. I remember feeling very shocked as I tried to absorb Judy’s announcement last year that her mom had passed. I was looking forward to meeting Tita Nini because I found her so loving and entertaining (she also has her own vlog channel where she uploads her Filipino recipes and cute videos of her spending time with her apos).
Judy announced last year that she will be closing her shop, The JMK Collection, because she couldn’t give her full focus given their current life stage of raising five girls. She put up a final online sale on her website and the rest of the stocks they brought to the Philippines for the first and last JMK Pop-up Shop. They did a meet and greet with fans in Manila where lucky viewers and internet aunties got to meet the Travis family in person.
Again, thank you dear Judy for being so warm and welcoming! It’s an absolute honor for me to have done your color analysis session.
