How to Wear Pantone’s 2024 Color of the Year: Peach Fuzz [VIDEO]

Pantone, the global color authority and provider of professional color language standards recently unveiled PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz as the 2024 Color of the Year. Two months ago, a lot of people got excited when Apricot Crush was announced as the 2024 Color of the Year by WGSN and COLORO, which is a completely different entity from Pantone. I had to create a video and share my thoughts on the confusion as I saw that so many people have already misidentified, mistagged and even created content labelling Apricot Crush as the Pantone 2024 Color of the Year.

In one of my media interviews in October this year, I was also asked about the Color of the Year announcement and I told the staff that Pantone has not yet released anything and they usually make the announcement through a special launch event in December. I was able to attend the online launch on December 7, 2023 (way past my bedtime as they did it in the wee hours of the night), where Pantone revealed Peach Fuzz as the 2024 Color of the Year.

Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute says “PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz brings belonging, inspires recalibration, and an opportunity for nurturing, conjuring up an air of calm, offering us a space to be, feel, and heal and to flourish from whether spending time with others or taking the time to enjoy a moment by ourselves.ā€

The introduction of PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz also marks the 25th anniversary of the Pantone Color of the Year program, which started in 1999. The Pantone Color of the Year program has emerged as a worldwide recognized cultural symbol, highlighting the ways in which the language of color is used to reflect and convey current events in our global culture.

ā€œWith this year’s Pantone Color of the Year 2024, we see an increased focus on community and people across the world reframing how they want to live and evaluating what is important – that being the comfort of being close to those we love. The color is one whose warm and welcoming embrace conveys a message of compassion and whose cozy sensibility brings people together and enriches the soul,ā€ added Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute. ā€œIn the spirit of PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz, we reflect back on the last 25 years of the Pantone Color of the Year program grateful to provide an avenue where designers and color enthusiasts all over the world can engage in a conversation about color, be inspired by color and showcase their creativity within their communities. We look forward to continuing this for many more years to come.ā€

Below, I share my thoughts on PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz and share some information on who can wear it best, how to wear it, and what you can combine with it.
