Ruching is the gathering or ruffling of fabric.
The term “ruche” is French in origin and means to ruffle, bring together, or pleat. This is a technique not only used for trimming, but as a design feature in the garments.

Ruching is universally flattering. Whether it’s to one side, over the torso, running the length of the body or up a sleeve, it not only adds interest and femininity to a garment, it’s pure magic when it comes to hiding trouble spots.
