Wedding Things We Scrimped On: Our Wedding Attire

A wedding is a once in a lifetime event so it’s perfectly understandable why so much thought goes into what one would wear for a milestone such as this. The wedding attire usually eats up a significant chunk of the wedding budget but it got me thinking, must it always be that way? Is it a capital sin if we decide to scrimp on this one? Will the wedding not push through if i don’t spend at least 6-digits on my wedding gown?

A lot of us are pressured to keep up with what’s popular. Sure, there’s nothing wrong with the desire to get married wearing a beautiful, well-crafted gown. If you’re the sentimental type and have plans of having your wedding gown boxed, framed and displayed, if that makes you happy, go for it. For me however, I am averse to clutter. I wanted my wedding gown to be special but I also wanted to make sure it was something I could wear multiple times in different ways. In the video I talk about how I discussed my wedding gown details with my designer, Hanna delos Reyes and how Dave also had his own coat barong customized.

Our Wedding Day Vlog

I thought it was highly possible for me to vlog the whole wedding day. I needed help! I’m thankful that our wedding photographers, my bridesmaids and maid of honor were more than happy to step in and tell the story of our wedding day.

Things I learned?

  • Matagal pala talaga yung prep shoot. Of course it looks so easy and fast when the photos are put together na for the SDE but… haha let me tell you NO. With all due respect to our photographers, they really did a great job and I know they wanted to get a lot of amazing shots because this is their craft. I guess I just had to properly psyche myself. Hindi kasi professional mowdel si Ingrid. :p
  • EAT. AS IN. It’s bound to be a long day.
  • We should have taken pictures with our family and other guests in our photobooth. 😦 I’m thankful that our supplier Photomocoh extended their hours just to make sure that Dave and I had shots of ourselves at the photobooth. That was very nice of them.
  • Even if you think you’ve planned everything, you have to learn to let go and entrust the execution to the coordinators and people involved. Yes, there will be things that won’t go according to the outline but you just have to let go and ENJOY EVERY SINGLE MOMENT because the time just zooms through so quickly.

Enjoy our wedding vlog!

#WeddingVlog05 Meet My Wedding Gown Designer! | INGRID NIETO Vlogs

Hanna and I know each other for several years now and I’ve actually asked her to make some of my dresses and gowns in the past. Knowing her design philosophy, her kind heart and her being so intentional to be a channel of Christ through her designing business didn’t make me think twice na she would be my gown designer. At first, I sent her pegs of gowns I liked.

She noted my preferences but surprised me with the sweetest, personalized designs, factoring in how well she knew me, my love for Disney and what would work best with my body type.

We met at the school program of BSF International (Ortigas Evening Women’s Class) where we both served as CLs. It’s been wonderful witnessing how Christ has been journeying and refining her through her family, ministry, design business and clients.

A DREAMY TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS WEDDING

Another one of those “driving all by myself” adventures. I’ve been to Tagaytay Highlands several times but never got to drive on my own to the Midlands–so this is a first! It was scary going up because it’s mostly uphill and I was getting paranoid that my car would break down or something. Eep! Thank God it didn’t.

[WATCH] MICHAEL AND RONICA’S WEDDING AT CLEAR WATER REST HOUSE, TAGAYTAY

I love midday weddings, specially when they’re held at cool, open spaces that are close to nature. There’s something so charming about Clear Water Rest House–the green open lawn, the quaint cottage where preps can be done and the spacious patio that provides an excellent view of the Taal Volcano.

After the morning ceremony at Caleruega Chapel, guests arrived a little before lunch and entertained themselves to the brim by taking photos at the patio, posing for snaps at the photo booth and enjoying the candy bar. The weather cooperated so well. It didn’t rain and the sun gleamed with just the right intensity. Got to work with Jeo and Agnes Odulio again of Empire Weddings. More on the vlog below

Patrick and Cecille’s Wedding at EDSA Shangri-la Hotel

A second chance in love. I kept wiping my tears as I listened to their God-ordained story. 🙂 At times, it takes a while for the Lord to answer prayers but that doesn’t mean He’s forgotten. A lot of times He needs to stretch our faith and increase our dependence on Him alone.
