Jed Madela on Stage 1

See how I am dwarfed by the tallness that is Jed Madela?

The first time Jed sang on my show was in 2011. Before that, I’d often just see him belt out songs on TV and thought he’d be like all the others. Jed comes from a musical family but he never really took singing seriously until all his classmates and friends pushed him to join local singing competitions in Ilo-Ilo.

This is a short clip of Jed singing “Let It Go” on the show. I was floored. Grabe, naka-upo pa yan.

//instagram.com/p/mj2l9fGAFo/embed/Fans love Jed because he really takes time to reply to their messages and take note of their requests. One of our listeners, Pao, was lucky enough to catch the performance live at the studio.

It was funny because while Pao was enjoying himself, his mom kept calling and asking where he was! Hindi ata nagpaalam?! Haha

Jed is out with a new album under Star Records called “All Original.” It features original OPM tracks penned by himself, Trina Belamide, Soc Villanueva, Jonathan Manalo, Garlic Garcia, Genevieve de Vera, Jimmy Antiporda, Jungee Marcelo, Raizo Chabeldin, Francis Salazar, Christian Martinez and Wilson John Escaner. Jed says each song in the album can stand on its own. They tried to experiment a bit and the reaction is unusual: people get surprised that it’s actually Jed they’re listening to.
Check out the album preview below and do get yourself a copy of “All Original,” out in your favorite record stores and online via Itunes.
