VENUE: Isla Ballroom, EDSA Shangri-la Hotel
Won’t comment much on the venue because it’s excellent! Since it’s indoor, not much trouble battling with weather elements (umulan, umaraw or mag-snow–yeah right! Your wedding will still go on!).
The Isla Ballroom can accommodate 800 people (depending on the function of course. If it’s a conference, it can seat around 1000). The registration/cocktail area is spacious enough for guests to roam around and amuse themselves by taking photos. There’s free public wifi but no couches or chairs.
The Big White Screen–a wedding essential nowadays.
Trusty technicians are available during the crucial switching of laptops for your photo slideshows and SDE videos.
COORDINATOR: Just Like Ours
I loved working with Queen David and her team. They’re very efficient, prompt and maasikaso. The team was quick to communicate and troubleshoot, plus they’re very nice. They definitely made things easy and stress-free for the couple and suppliers.

MUSIC: Bernie Pasamba Strings Highly-recommended! They’re not boisterously loud and their music selections are perfect for weddings which both the young and old guests can appreciate. I’ve worked with Bernie Pasamba Strings many times and I never get tired of listening to them perform.
PARKING: Not a problem. 🙂 If you’re a guest, try to secure a parking pass from the couple/coordinator before you leave. Parking rate is P75 for the first 3 hours.
THE VERDICT: WILL I GET MARRIED HERE? Why not!? If budget allows, I’d like it here. It’s accessible to most guests, food is great and the venue is beautiful.
TO WHOM WILL I RECOMMEND THIS?
-Overseas couples who don’t have much time to go supplier-hunting and just want a one-stop shop for everything
-If you’ve got moolah to spare but very busy
-Couples whose parents offer to take care of most wedding expenses (hehehe) As with most hotel weddings, the styling is included in the package. HOWEVER, if you feel that the floral arrangements are kulang or let’s say you’re going for a totally different theme, you’ll have to hire a separate Wedding Stylist/Florist. Pero if you’re not big on themes naman and are happy with the flowers and centerpieces they provide, no problem.
