On THANKFUL TUESDAY today, we featured the life of a man born with no arms and no legs. If you’ve been hanging around Youtube a lot, you’ve probably come across the video “No Arms, No Legs — No Worries”. His name is Nick Vujicic, a 27-year-old preacher and motivational speaker from Australia.
Life wasn’t very easy for him at first. He had to go through a period of rejection, discrimination and hardships. A lot of people looked down on him and made fun of his disability and this led him to entertain the thought of suicide at a very young age. Nick came to know Jesus Christ and this brought about a major change in his life. He realized his worth because Christ died for him. He now lives his life with a purpose, and that is to tell everyone around the world about the saving grace of Christ and inspire people to not dwell on what they don’t have but be content with what God has given.
We have to admit the fact that contentment is not very easy to learn and grow accustomed to. We live in a world where people seem to be defined by what they own, the cars they drive and the clothes they wear. There is that constant pressure to keep up with your neighbor: “Oh, he has a new car, I should get one too.” “Oh, he bought a resort… I should buy one too!” Contentment is something that I still struggle with, but God constantly reminds me that it’s not the material things of this world that make a person. Remember that when we die, we can’t bring any of our possessions with us. (Matthew 6:19-21 19“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.)

SARAH LOU: hi pinkingrid i thank God for my bff AnneKristine. During our college days we had the same situation as everything seems to go wrong until it was through once incident that we became grateful as i saw in our own eyes. A mother along Recto chop off her child’s hand with a chopper the helplessness in her eyes, the scream of pain from the innocent child haunted us until today. The desperate mother deliberately caused the child to be handicapped so the child could go out to beg. Taken aback by the scene, we felt compelled to give as we hurriedly spent all our allowance and bought every single loaf of bread we found in the bakery. The owner was dumbfounded yet willingly sold everything. we distributed the bread and necessities to the child. Then realized we no longer have an allowance for a week yet we brighten up someone’s day.
